THEMPRESS has quickly become an exciting, genre-blurring selectors, even landing a spot on Mixmag’s Artists to Watch for 2026. Based in East London, they float effortlessly between jungle, techno, footwork, dubstep, and global club sounds, though they’re just as comfortable slowing things down for deeper listening sets rooted in jazz, ambient, and experimental music. They call their signature style “curated chaos,” a beautiful balance of high-energy release and thoughtful introspection, all held together by a deep, unwavering love for heavy bass.
That sound has taken them to some of the biggest stages around, including Glastonbury, Fabric, Printworks, Drumsheds, Outlook, and We Out Here, sharing lineups with heavyweights like Honey Dijon, Kode9, and Fabio & Grooverider.

For THEMPRESS, music is nothing without people. As the co-founder of BUMPAH, a groundbreaking queer POC bass collective, they’ve spent years building club spaces where community sits at the absolute centre. They carry that same energy into their work as an educator, presenter, and the Community & Education Manager at Voices Radio, where they focus on opening doors for marginalised artists and using bass music as a tool for connection and healing.
Driven by pure curiosity, THEMPRESS treats DJing like storytelling. They spend hours digging through global music histories, forgotten internet archives, and generations of diasporic sounds, weaving together a musical conversation that refuses to be neatly boxed in. As they put it, "I love connecting the threads across genres and art forms to build a universe where my expression always feels like an extension of myself, my stories, my inspirations, communities, and my energies."
Every single set is shaped by its environment. A sunrise set in nature requires a completely different musical language than a 5:00 AM warehouse rave, but THEMPRESS approaches both with the same meticulous care, often drawing inspiration from journals, poetry, and visual art.
Their performances are between reflection and release, merging meditative, ancestral textures with explosive rhythms and unapologetically queer energy. Whether they’re slowing the room down into total stillness or driving the crowd into pure euphoria, the goal is always to make people feel connected, present, and completely locked in.
Joined by the fierce, uncompromising energy of REPTILE B, this INTROE SONIC session captures that philosophy perfectly, a fearless journey through sound that honours where we've been while carving out entirely new futures for the dancefloor.
