Meg Ward's sets are built on connections. Behind the decks, the aim is simple. Let go, lose yourself and get locked into the same energy as everyone around you.
Behind the bass and the chaos is a DJ who always reads the room first. Meg Ward is proof of why the best sets are never over-planned.
Yorkshire-born DJ and producer Meg Ward has built her own lane in the UK's electronic underground, with genre-spanning sets and bass-driven productions of pure euphoria and grit. She started out as a resident DJ in Newcastle in 2017, playing long, genre-fluid sets that shaped her instinct for the dancefloor.

In 2022 she was nominated for Best Breakthrough Producer at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards.
Asked to sum up her work in three words, Meg lands on “bass-heavy, joyful, unruly”. It’s a fitting description for a DJ whose sets balance high-impact selections with a sense of play and release, on stages from Glastonbury, Creamfields and Snowbombing to Warehouse Project, Printworks, DC10 and Amnesia.
Preparation, for Meg, is more about knowing her music than mapping out a set. She’s always digging for new tracks and building playlists, but tries not to over-plan. She keeps a loose idea of where she might go, then reads the room and lets things unfold. Because she plays across so many genres, the real work is knowing her catalogue well enough to move between sounds and energies in the moment.
That approach is exactly what she loves most about selecting. She enjoys finding connections between tracks that might not obviously belong together, and the satisfaction of landing one record that bridges two completely different moods or genres. Rather than sticking to a particular style, she thinks in terms of energy, and how each track changes the feeling in the room.
What she hopes to create is just as open-hearted. “Euphoria, freedom and a bit of chaos,” she says. Meg wants people to lose themselves completely, leave whatever’s happening outside the club at the door and have fun. For her, the best dancefloors feel communal, with everyone locked into the same energy for a couple of hours.
That belief runs through everything she does. Driven by the liberatory power of dance music, her work is rooted in queer joy, openness and connection, whether through collaborative releases or packed-out dancefloors. In 2024 she launched Mega Wavy, a label and platform celebrating community and collaboration. It was marked by the Collabz project, a series of joint productions that culminated in a compilation and a launch party at The Glove That Fits, with early support from DJ Paulette, Chloe Robinson and DJ Mag.
Ask for her deadliest weapon and she doesn’t hesitate. Right now, it’s “Meg Ward + Kiimi – Get Low”. Still unreleased, it has been road-tested for the past year and always gets a huge reaction. It’s bass-heavy and euphoric, with a massive drop, and somewhere along the way the pair started getting the whole crowd to physically get low before it hits. Watching a dancefloor crouch down and then erupt never gets old.
