Behind the peak-time pandemonium is a Notes app full of half-finished edits: Harry Gay on trusting the gut over the plan.
Over the past few years, Harry has become a fixture across the UK and European rave circuit, from shutting down Glastonbury's Rum Shack with Queer House Party to playing some of the scene's most respected clubs and festivals. Alongside his work in the booth, he has continued to sharpen his production output, with 2025 seeing the release of the hard house stomper "Bongo Bingo" with Meg Ward. 2026 has seen Harry take things firmly international, touring Australia while continuing to build his catalogue of original productions and bring his high-energy sound to dancefloors across the globe. With Queer House Party and Filth continuing to champion queer rave culture, his work remains rooted in community, hedonism and the belief that the dancefloor should belong to everyone.

OPEN ON YOUTUBE ↗Asked to sum up his work in three words, Harry lands on "fancy.sharp.couch", three words that resist easy explanation, which feels about right for a DJ whose sets are built on breaks, rave-ready edits and peak-time chaos.
That chaos is, somewhat paradoxically, obsessively logged. Harry's phone is full of Notes app lists, edits still to make, transitions pieced together on train rides, songs he's heard out that he can't find anywhere. "I never forget, and I will be in your DMs, sorry!!" he says of the tracks that get away. He's constantly falling down Bandcamp and SoundCloud rabbit holes, building playlists, saving things, stitching songs together, a habit he credits for why he's never been able to settle on one sound or genre. He gets inspiration from everywhere, and by his own admission, he's bad at being strategic about it. Everything is vibes-based, and he's far more interested in how something feels than in how it makes him look as a DJ.
That instinct is exactly what he loves most about the selection process, selecting in real time, dropping into a flow state, reacting to the crowd and seeing what happens. The best mixes, Harry says, come from not thinking but trusting your gut and not being afraid to have fun.
What he's chasing once that connection is made is deliberately unstable, surprise, nostalgia, confusion, adrenaline, euphoria, all stacked on top of each other across a set. Ask what his deadliest weapon is, and the answer loops back to the same source as everything else: chronic ADHD. For all the reasons above, it's the thing that makes the chaos possible in the first place.
